Carolinne B
Jewellery Designer
Carolinne B is a Swedish jewellery designer and founder of her namesake independent brand. She creates bold silver, gold, and fine jewellery that pulses with nature.
Each piece is handmade in Stockholm with raw energy, playful edge, and a streak of wild elegance.
Inspired by organic forms and patterns, every piece is a statement - part instinct, part expression, unmistakably alive. Bees, big cats, and untamed creatures weaved through designs in previous collections, turning jewellery into wearable stories.
Carolinne has just launched her newest collection ‘Daydreams & Nightfalls’, which focuses on the contrasts of day and night and their most intriguing creatures - butterflies and bats. The collection is made from silver and gold, adorned with pearls in black, purple, and white
We were eager to talk to Carolinne about her background, work, influence & processes, and about her newest collection. Here's what she had to say...
Solstice: Tell us about yourself. Where did you grow up? What were you like as a child?
Carolinne: I grew up in Sweden, surrounded by forests, lakes, and the changing seasons, which is a kind of magic you don’t really question as a child. Creativity was in my blood, running from my great-grandmother to my mother, and even the Danish goldsmiths who shaped our family legacy.
As a child, I was curious, fiercely stubborn, and always chasing something that made me feel alive, things that sparked wonder rather than followed rules. That restless energy and obsession with detail shaped the way I see the world and design my jewellery: bold, imaginative, and full of character. A perspective that still guides how I create and fill my home.
Solstice: How did you get into jewellery design?
Carolinne: Jewellery design emerged naturally from my lifelong love of creating. From childhood, I was drawn to textures, patterns, and forms in nature, whether it was a butterfly wing, a leaf, or the movement of animals.
My first piece was a lioness bangle, followed by alligators, which set the theme for my nature-inspired collections. Jewellery became the perfect bridge between design and storytelling: small, intimate, and meaningful.
Each creation inspired the next, developing a universe of motifs that connect deeply with people. What started as a hobby eventually grew into Carolinne B, a way to continue a family legacy of craftsmanship while exploring my creative vision.
Solstice: How are you finding being a jewellery designer? What are the highs and lows?
Carolinne: The highs are incredible, it’s hard to describe the feeling when something you’ve imagined, maybe even just in a thought or a sketch, becomes real, and then someone chooses to wear it. It’s intimate, like sharing a small piece of your world with someone else. I also love building the universe around the pieces, curating how they feel, and the little stories.
The lows usually happen in the in-between: Delays, endless tweaks, or moments of self-doubt when a piece doesn’t quite match the vision in my head. But those challenges are also what shape the work, they push me to think differently, experiment, and ultimately make the pieces feel more alive and layered.
Right now, I feel like I’m in a really exciting phase, balancing that tension between imagination and reality, and it’s teaching me so much about patience, intuition, and trusting the process.

Solstice: Your designs are inspired by nature and animals/insects. What drew you to these?
Carolinne: Nature has always been my anchor, it’s delicate, raw, and endlessly inspiring. Animals and insects fascinate me because of their intricacy, character details and poetic energy.
I love translating these qualities into jewellery that feels playful, bold, and meaningful. From butterflies to bats, lions to koi fish, each creature tells its own story and invites wearers into a dialogue with nature.
This connection is mirrored in my home, filled with art, antiques, and personal treasures that reflect curiosity and the beauty of life. The natural world remains an endless source of inspiration for both my designs and my surroundings.
Solstice: How did you decide on the main design style, metals, and finishes for your jewellery?
Carolinne: I aim to create jewellery that feels timeless yet intimate, capturing the beauty of nature’s imperfections. Silver and gold form the foundation of my work, but it’s the textures, finishes, and subtle details that give each piece its own personality—like something discovered rather than manufactured.
A big part of this philosophy is sustainability: I work with upcycled gems and diamonds, giving these stones a second life rather than relying on newly mined or lab-grown materials. Each reclaimed gem carries its own history, and in transforming it, I hope to honor both the material and the natural world that inspires my designs. The same approach guides my creative universe: I’m drawn to layers, curiosities, and objects that feel alive, where every detail tells a story. In this way, my jewellery and my imagination are inseparable, each piece a reflection of care, curiosity, and a deep respect for nature’s enduring beauty.
Solstice: Describe the process from concept to final realised product? What was your favourite part of the process?
Carolinne: My process usually kicks off with a spark or a story, a fleeting feeling, or a fragment of an image that won’t leave me alone. I sketch, testing shapes, textures, and materials, letting the idea push me into a directions. Once the form starts to solidify, I move into CAD, prototypes, and casting, all crafted locally in Stockholm.
But my favourite part is that raw, untamed beginning, when anything feels possible and ideas buzz in the air. That energy, playful, unpredictable, alive is what gives each piece its edge, its personality, and its pulse.
It’s the same freedom I try to cultivate in my studio: a space where imagination can run wild, experiments are encouraged.
Solstice: Your new collection is titled ‘Daydreams & Nightfalls’ focusing on flying creatures, butterflies, and bats. What made you choose these?
Carolinne: ‘Daydreams & Nightfalls’ grew from my fascination with contrasts—the light and the dark, the playful and the mysterious, the seen and the hidden.
Butterflies capture the fleeting, joyful energy of a sunlit summer day: warmth, soft laughter, and that tender, ephemeral feeling of young love. Bats carry the quiet intensity of twilight, the secrets, the shadows, and the stories that only reveal themselves when the world slows down.
Together, they tell a love story in two acts: the bright, whimsical pursuit of connection during the day, and the intimate, hidden layers we carry into the night. Each piece is alive with movement and narrative, capturing the poetry of nature and the duality of life.
I designed the collection to invite reflection, emotion, and storytelling, giving the wearer a chance to step into a personal, layered world, where joy and mystery, light and shadow, softness and edge coexist, just like in love.
Solstice: Do you have a favourite of your own designs from this collection? If so, which one and why?
Carolinne: Oh yes!! The bat piece keeps catching my eye. It’s unexpected, a little bold, but still elegant. It feels like it quietly steals the show, soft, edgy, and a bit mischievous. It embodies duality, the push and pull between light and dark, whimsy and mystery and mirroring both the collection and my creative philosophy.

Solstice: The collection is made from silver and gold, adorned with pearls in black, purple, and white. What made you choose these?
Carolinne: Pearls bring that soft, dreamy glow I love. White feels airy and light, black adds depth and mystery, and purple gives that magical, slightly surreal in-between mood.
Together, they capture the feeling of day turning into night, and everything in between—the warmth of a sun-drenched afternoon, The fleeting thrill of a glance that makes your heart skip. Each pearl carries that tender, playful energy of a summer-day love, where moments feel suspended in time, and every detail, the light, the shadow, the touch, tells a story of connection, intimacy, and quiet magic.
Solstice: Are you already thinking about the designs for the collection after this one? If so, what can we expect?
Carolinne: Absolutely, I’m always exploring new ideas, even if they start as tiny sketches in the margins of my notebooks. Lately, I’ve been drawn back to the ocean: creatures I’ve worked with before, like seahorses and blue whales, but this time I want to dive even deeper, exploring forms, textures, and stories that feel hidden and intimate.
A new, secret piece will appear in the collection, carrying a surprise and asking, in its own way, how deep your love really is.
The collection will be quieter and more intimate, with finer pieces that reveal little secrets to the wearer, just like hidden wonders beneath the waves. Gemstones, pearls, emeralds, diamonds, will appear again, chosen for the emotion they carry rather than just their sparkle.
For me, it’s about crafting jewellery that feels alive, personal, and layered with story, echoing the rhythm and mystery of the ocean that inspires it.
